H.447, Vermont's Range Protection Bill Passes

H.447, Vermont's Range Protection bill, was amended and passed by the Senate 28 yeas 0 nays and 2 absent on Wednesday, May 3rd. The House voted to concur with the Senate amended version, voting 126 yeas, 7 nays and 16 not voting.

The Senate amendment made the bill much stronger.

The bill has now passed the legislature and is headed to Governor Douglas, where he is expected to sign it into law.

In an extremely brief description, H.447 provides Vermont's existing "sport shooting ranges" with better protection against nuisance lawsuits and municipal discharge ordinances.

The bill, as passed by the legislature, and the House roll call vote can be viewed here.
