Vermont Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs Trap Shoot Event for Vermont LegislatorsThe Vermont Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs and the NRA co-sponsored a trap shoot event for members of the Vermont Legislators hosted at the Montpelier Gun Club. The event took place on Tuesday, April 24th, in the late afternoon, after the legislative committees had concluded their business day.The Montpelier Gun Club, which was established in 1895, is a Federation member club, and along with other Federation member clubs, supplied shotguns and more than ten experienced firearms instructors for the event. Appropriate eye and ear protection was also provided. The legislators had varying degrees of firearm and trap shooting experience, and had instructors capable of working with their individual coaching needs. Thanks to the excellent instructional staff and a sufficient variety of size and fit of shotguns, all of the legislators had shotguns that properly fit. The legislators stepped to the line, along with experienced trap shooters, to shoot a round of trap. Ammunition and clays were provided by the Vermont Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs The weather was great, many legislators were first-time shooters and they had a great shooting experience. Many clays were broken in the air and more than a few by the first-time shooters. A good time was had by all. Unfortunately, committee business prevented many legislators from attending. But, those legislators present had a great experience to report to their colleagues. The Vermont legislators listed below participated in the trap shoot event. If anyone was omitted, it was an oversight. Please contact vtguns@aol.com to be added to the list.
