Following the shotgun shooting, the kids went to the rifle range where they shot .22 rimfire rifles purchased by the club with this year's NRA grant money. About 15 kids shot .22 from the benches, once again coached individually by experienced shooters.

The club had set up brackets to hold clay birds at the 25 yard target butts so the kids had active targets to shoot. This was a very popular event with the kids spending a couple of hours shooting.

The NRA Shooting Camp grant money was also used to purchase .22 and shotgun ammunition as well as lunch, hearing protection and shooting glasses. One youngster told her dad that now that she knows how to shoot, she needs her own .22 rifle.

This NRA Shooting Camp was funded from the profits of the six Friends of the NRA Banquets held throughout Vermont.
